Metro reporters are all qualified, designated Charter Shorthand Reporters in Alberta – CSR(A) – are members of the Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association, and are appointed Commissioners for Oath in Alberta. We are also governed under the Alberta Rules of Court and Code of Ethics. When you book a reporter with us, rest assured you are booking a certified stenographic reporter and never a digital recorder.

What does that mean?
Fair and Equitable Rates: Transcript fees are similar to court transcript fees – they’re on a per character basis. Whether you are delivering page-long submissions or conducting a simple Q and A, you are guaranteed to always pay a fair rate, while the stenographic reporter is also properly compensated for the work they do. It’s also easier to read, follow, and it just looks better!
Transcript Formatting: Ever seen a court transcript from TMS? Our transcripts are formatted the same way – condensed (41 lines), easy to read, and we follow the same formatting rules as Transcript Management Services, including an index of undertakings, exhibits, and bookmarks within the pdf. With every transcript order, you receive a hard copy and complimentary electronic copy. Lastly, a percentage of every transcript order goes towards the Zebra Child Protection Centre!
Daily Transcript Production: Our team has been on some of the most high-profile criminal trials here in Edmonton, providing daily transcripts weeks at a time. When you order a daily, you will receive a complimentary rough-draft at the end of the proceeding and you will receive the final certified transcript by 9AM the following business day.
Questionings: We’re back to doing in-person questionings, but we understand if remote questionings are more desirable. We can accommodate either one. Provide us a link or have us send one to you instantaneously when you book with us.
Audio transcription: Need an audio recording to be transcribed into written text? Send us the audio file and our team will produce a transcript. Please note that the quality of the digital audio plays a big factor in the quality of the transcript. Chances are if you cannot hear what is being said on the digital audio file, neither can we.
